India Champions will lock horns with Pakistan Champions in the inaugural World Championship of Legends 2024 group match at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham, England on Saturday, July 6.
Led by Yuvraj Singh, India Champions started their World Championship of Legends 2024 campaign with a three-wicket win over England Champions in the opening match of the T20 tournament on Wednesday.
After India Champions opted to field first, off-spinner Harbhajan Singh bagged two wickets while pacers Dhawal Kulkarni and Vinay Kumar picked up one wicket each to restrict England Champions to 165/4 in their 20 overs.
In reply, Robin Uthappa’s 32-ball fifty along with contributions from Gurkeerat Singh Mann (33), Naman Ojha (25) and Irfan Pathan (22) helped India Champions chase down the target in 19 overs.
India Champions later defeated West Indies Champions by 27 runs (DLS method) in their second match of the tournament on Friday.
Having accumulated four points from two games, India Champions are currently placed at the top of the World Championship of Legends 2024 standings.
On the other hand, Pakistan Champions have also been unbeaten in the World Championship of Legends 2024 so far.
Under the leadership of 2009 T20 World Cup-winning captain Younis Khan, Pakistan Champions defeated Australia Champions by five wickets at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in their tournament opener.
The Men in Green continued their impressive start as they later overcame West Indies Champions by 29 runs at the same venue in Birmingham.
With four points from two games, Pakistan Champions are currently placed second in the standings due to an inferior net run rate.
