India A will lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan A in their ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 opener at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1) in Muscat, Oman on Saturday, October 19.

The India A vs Pakistan A ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 match will start at 7:00 PM IST. Live streaming and telecast of the match will be available in India.

Organised by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), as many as eight teams will compete in a total of 15 matches in the sixth edition of the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup. These participating teams have been divided into two groups of four teams each.

India A and Pakistan A are clubbed in Group B alongside hosts Oman and the United Arab Emirates. Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka A are placed in Group A.

Under the leadership of wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris, Pakistan A will head into the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 as defending champions after they defeated India A by 128 runs in the 2023 final in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 will be played in a T20 format for the first time since its inception in 2013.

Batting all-rounder Tilak Varma has been named the captain of the India A squad for the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024. Abhishek Sharma will be his deputy.

Apart from Tilak and Abhishek, the likes of Prabhsimran Singh, Nehal Wadhera, Ayush Badoni, Vaibhav Arora, Sai Kishore and Rahul Chahar are some of the talented T20 stars included in the India A squad.

On the other hand, Pakistan A will once again be led by Mohammad Haris in the 2024 edition.

Abdul Samad, Ahmed Daniyal, Yasir Khan and Zaman Khan have been included in the Pakistan A squad for the first time. 

Meanwhile, India A won the inaugural edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in 2013 while Sri Lanka won the next two editions in 2017 and 2018.

Pakistan Shaheens have clinched the last two editions of the tournament in 2019 and 2023.
