The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to start in the United Arab Emirates on October 3. Live streaming and telecast of the T20 World Cup will be available in India.
Bangladesh will meet Scotland in the opening match in Group B of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday, October 3.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will have 10 teams playing a total of 23 matches with the final slated to take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 20.
There will be two groups of five teams each with every side playing the other four teams in their group once in a single round-robin format.
The top two sides from each group after the league matches will qualify for the semi-finals which will happen on October 17 and 18.
Defending champions Australia, the 2020 T20 World Cup finalist India, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are part of Group A. Former champions England and West Indies headline Group B alongside South Africa, Bangladesh and Scotland.
Australia Women, with their squad depth and a plethora of all-rounders, look to be in the driving seat to win the T20 World Cup for a seventh time. The Aussies have been the best team in the history of the competition with six titles.
Meanwhile, England and West Indies would be keen to add further to their tally of a solitary T20 World Cup title.
The experienced Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the 15-member Indian team who are looking to win their maiden T20 World Cup.
Harmanpreet is the only Indian woman and one of six individuals to have been a part of all the previous editions of the T20 World Cup.
India will open their T20 World Cup campaign against New Zealand Women on October 4 in Dubai with the much-anticipated India-Pakistan contest slated for October 6th at the same venue.
