The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 schedule was announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday, June 27.
Defending champions England cricket team will face New Zealand in the opening match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5.
The Indian cricket team will begin their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign against five-time World Cup winners Australia at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8.
The much-awaited India vs Pakistan ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on October 14.
A total of 10 teams will feature in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 to be hosted by India. As per the schedule, each team will play the other nine sides once in a round-robin format. The top four teams in the standings after all the league matches will advance to the semi-finals.
Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa have already qualified for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 through the Cricket World Cup Super League. The remaining two spots will be decided at the end of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 being held in Zimbabwe.
The first ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 semi-final will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15, while the second semi-final is scheduled to be hosted at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 16. Both semi-finals will have a reserve day.
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19 with November 20 slated as the reserve day.
Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune are the 10 venues that will host a total of 48 matches in the 13th edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup.
Meanwhile, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad will host the warm-up matches from September 29 to October 3.
