The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 schedule was announced by the International Cricket Council on Tuesday, December 24.
As per the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 schedule, as many as eight teams will compete in a total of 15 ODIs from February 19 to March 9 in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
These eight participating teams have been divided into two groups of four teams each. Group A has Bangladesh, India, New Zealand and Pakistan while Afghanistan, Australia, England and South Africa are in Group B.
Each team will play the other three sides once in a single round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-finals.
Karachi’s National Stadium, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Pakistan while Dubai International Cricket Stadium has been confirmed as a neutral venue and will stage all India’s matches in the upcoming 50-over tournament.
Meanwhile Pakistan will host New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 opener at the National Stadium in Karachi on February 19.
The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team will begin their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign against Bangladesh in Dubai on the second day of the competition.
The high-profile Australia vs England ICC Champions Trophy 2025 fixture will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 22.
The much-awaited Pakistan vs India Champion Trophy 2025 game will be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on February 23.
The first semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in Dubai on March 4 while the second semi-final will be held in Lahore on March 5.
Lahore will also host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final on March 9, however, if India qualifies for the summit clash, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final will be played in Dubai. Both semi-finals and the final will have reserve days.
Pakistan are the defending champions of the ICC Champions Trophy after defeating arch-rivals India by 180 runs in the 2017 final at The Oval in London.
Australia and India are the most successful teams in the ICC Champions Trophy history with two titles each. The likes of South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and West Indies have clinched it once each since its inception in 1998.
