India will open their World Test Championship campaign against South Africa in October at the start of a packed schedule that will see them host series against five opponents in five months.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced five Tests, nine one-day internationals and 12 Twenty20 internationals between against five nations also including Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, West Indies and Australia.
India will play South Africa in three T20 games in September followed by three all-important Tests in October to mark their debut in the new world championship that runs through to 2021.
They are to play 18 games in all against all Test nations except Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh will then visit for three T20s and two Tests in November.
West Indies will tour India in December, followed by Zimbabwe and Australia in January for T20 and ODI series. South Africa will return in March for three ODIs.
