Guyana Amazon Warriors (GUY) will take on defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the opening match of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 at Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts & Nevis on Thursday, August 26.
Led by Kieron Pollard, Knight Riders defeated St Lucia Zouks in last year’s final to win their fourth CPL title. TKR, being the most successful team in the history of the tournament, will look to continue their dominance in the upcoming edition.
On the other hand, Guyana Amazon Warriors have made it to the final on five occasions. However, they have ended on the wrong side of the result in each of their five CPL T20 finals.
