Uncapped South African left-arm spinner George Linde will replace Jon-Jon Trevor Smut in South Africa’s squad for the three-match T20I series against India, the first match of which will be played on September 15.
Smut was ruled out of the squad for “failing to meet the required fitness standards,” according to a Cricket South Africa (CSA) release.
Linde is part of the South Africa A squad, who are playing an unofficial ODI against India A. In the three matches so far in the series, he has taken three wickets and scored an unbeaten 52 in the second match.
The 27-year-old has played 75 T20 matches till date, scoring 611 runs and taking 77 wickets at a strike rate of 19.3.
