Although fans weren't allowed to attend, England and Australia's first of three T20I matches treated those watching on their televisions or mobile devices at home to a nail-biting competition as England narrowly staved off the Aussie challenge to win by a mere two runs.

After posting a total of 162/7, thanks in no small part to eventual Man of the Match Dawid Malan's 43-ball 66 laced with five boundaries and three maximums, Australia's David Warner and Aaron Finch put together a respectable partnership of 98 runs in 11 overs and were looking good for a successful chase.

A valiant comeback effort from the English bowlers saw the visitors' hopes unravel, however, with some cheap dismissals that ultimately saw England through to victory in the series-opener as Australia petered out at 160/6.

Whether the men from Down Under can avoid another spectacular implosion and level the series will be revealed in the critical second T20I on Sunday, September 6, at the Rose Bowl Cricket Ground and we give you all the details you'll need to know about when and where to tune in for the action.
