England (ENG) have set up a date with New Zealand (NZ) in the first semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, November 10.
ENG vs NZ Dream11 prediction
It is a battle of heavyweights as both England and New Zealand were touted as frontrunners to go all the way in the tournament. England topped Group 1 in the Super 12s with eight points and an impressive net run rate of +2.464 to enter the semis.
New Zealand, on the other hand, finished second in Group 2 with eight points. While the English are looking to cope with the absence of an injured Jason Roy ahead of the semis, the Kiwis have got a fully fit squad and several match-winners at their disposal to choose from.
That said, England still are marginally ahead in terms of their batting as well as all-round prowess and are likely to emerge victorious against a determined New Zealand side.
ENG vs NZ Dream11 team tips for ICC T20 World Cup 2021
Top tip: Best batter
Martin Guptill is the batter to watch out for from the New Zealand camp. The Kiwi scored a superb 93 against Scotland in the group stage and has consistently provided steady starts to the Kiwis in the tournament. Known for his attacking intent in the powerplay, the 35-year old should be a fantasy favourite.
Top tip: Best bowler
Trent Boult has been bowling like a dream in the 2021 T20 World Cup for New Zealand. In the last five matches, he has accounted for 11 wickets, including two three-wicket hauls. His pace and swing has put the opposition batsmen in trouble more often than not and these qualities along with his miserly economy definitely makes him a must-have player in any fantasy team.
Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper
Moeen Ali of England is probably the best all-round option available for the upcoming clash in the semis. He made 37 against South Africa in a losing cause besides picking up a wicket in the same match to make it seven scalps in the tournament. His ability to make an impact in all departments makes him an asset for any fantasy team.
Jos Buttler is a no-brainer when it comes to wicket-keeping picks for this match. The Englishman has been exceptional behind the stumps and is one of the hardest hitters of the cricket ball. The 31-year old smashed a magnificent 67-ball 101 not out against Sri Lanka in the group stages and had also hammered an unbeaten 71 against Australia earlier. Any fantasy team is likely to be incomplete without Buttler for this match.
ENG vs NZ probable playing XI
ENG playing XI (probable): James Vince, Jos Buttler (wicket-keeper), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Liam Livingstone, Eoin Morgan (captain), Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood
