When the biggest cricket festival hits your shores, the excitement level is expected to be palpable. Over the past month, the scenes across England and Wales have been no different. With the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup returning to the land of the gentleman’s game, the hosts have tried their best to put the best foot forward in creating the right atmosphere for the competition.
This craze, however, has not been restricted to the cricketing fraternity alone. The World Cup fever seems to have transcended the sporting boundaries as well. While it was German footballer Thomas Mueller who donned an Indian jersey and tweeted his support for the Men In Blue.
I wish all participants of the Cricket #WorldCup2019 good luck & thrilling matches. Especially I cross my fingers for @imVkohli, the captain of the Indian team. He`s a fan of @DFB_Team and supported it multiple times in the past 🏏✊😃 #Cricket #GermanyCheersForIndia #esmuellert pic.twitter.com/hwS4apAlIE

Earlier, Kohli had tweeted out his wish to the German team ahead of their 2016 Euros campaign.

I'm all in with Die Mannschaft for the Euros! Which team are you supporting? #FirstNeverFollows pic.twitter.com/iAGbAE1r4N
Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios was also seen bringing out the cricketer in him at Wimbledon this year.

Later we also saw the English football team skipper, Harry Kane visit Virat Kohli while the Indian team was in London and try his hand at the game.
It didn’t stop just there as the superstars of Formula 1 too got into the bandwagon as soon as they hit the British shores for the upcoming British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

With hosts England set to take on New Zealand in the final on Sunday (July 14), it won’t be a surprise if we are to see a few more join this group. Probably the All Blacks (New Zealand rugby team)?
