The Champions One-Day Cup 2024 began on September 12 and will continue till September 29 in Faisalabad .

The inaugural edition of the Champions One-Day Cup, which is being conducted by the Pakistan Cricket Board, is the latest version of Pakistan’s premier domestic ODI competition. It replaced the erstwhile Pakistan Cup and will have all the centrally contracted players from Pakistan participating in it.

The Champions One-Day Cup 2024 will have five teams playing a total of 14 matches with the final slated to happen on September 29. All the matches in the 50-over competition will be played at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.

The tournament aims to rejuvenate Pakistan cricket as they get ready to host the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025.

Markhors, captained by Mohammad Rizwan beat the Shadab Khan-led Panthers by a massive 160 runs in the opening match of the Champions One-Day Cup 2024 in Faisalabad on Thursday.

Lions, with Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi at the helm, Dolphins, led by Saud Shakeel, and Stallions, captained by Mohammad Haris, are the other three teams in the Champions One-Day Cup 2024.

All five teams will play against each other once in the league phase with the top four teams qualifying for the knockouts. The first and second-placed teams will meet in the Qualifier with the winning side directly proceeding to the final.

Teams at the third and fourth spot in the points table will meet each other in Eliminator 1 with the winner of this contest facing the loser from the Qualifier in Eliminator 2. Subsequently, the winner of Eliminator 2 will progress to the final.

The winners of the Qualifier will meet the winners of the Eliminator 2 match in the final of the Champions One-Day Cup 2024.
