The Caribbean Premier League 2022 season will start on Thursday, September 1, with defending champions St Kitts & Nevis Patriots facing Jamaica Tallawahs in the season-opener.
The 10th edition of CPL will be played in St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago before moving to Guyana for the final few games of the season. A total of 34 matches will be played between September 1 and October 1.
The format of CPL 2022 has been kept the same, meaning that six participating teams will compete in a round-robin format, with the top four teams qualifying for the playoffs.
The teams competing in CPL 2022 are Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Saint Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders.
Meanwhile, this year’s Caribbean Premier League will feature several faces, including the likes of Sri Lanka spinners Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana. South Africa’s Dewald Brevis and Afghanistan’s Izharulhaq Naveed will be among the new names as well.
