After Qualifier 1 between Bezawada Tigers and Coastal Riders was abandoned due to the rain, the Tigers booked their place in Qualifier 2 after finishing higher on the APL 2022 points table. Both the Tigers and the Riders accumulated 12 points from five league matches but the former finished above the Riders due to a better net run-rate.
On the other hand, Rayalaseema Kings defeated Uttarandhra Lions by five wickets in the APL 2022 Eliminator to secure their place in the Qualifier 2.
Bezawada Tigers have registered two wins, and one loss while two matches have been abandoned in their last five matches in the ongoing tournament. Meanwhile, Rayalaseema Kings have won three matches, and suffered one defeat while one match was abandoned.
Interestingly, the earlier meeting between the Tigers and the Kings in the group stage was called off due to rain.
