After clinching the three-match T20I series 2-1, the India women’s cricket team will lock horns with hosts Bangladesh in a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series starting on Sunday, July 16.
The upcoming ODI series is part of the 2022-25 ICC Women’s Championship. The third edition of the ICC Women’s Championship is being contested by 10 teams to determine qualification for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup to be held in India in 2025.
Despite winning the recently-concluded T20I series, India Women will aim to put on a better show in the 50-over series and will be led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
While Harmanpreet led from the front with the bat scoring 94 runs in the three-match T20I series, the likes of Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia and Amanjot Kaur struggled against Bangladeshi spinners.
In the bowling department, spinners Deepti Sharma, Anusha Bareddy and Sneh Rana will play a key role for the visitors.
On the other hand, the Bangladesh’s Women cricket team ended the T20I series with a consolation four-wicket win in Dhaka. The Niger Sultana Joty-led side will look to secure their first ODI win against India in the upcoming three-match series.
Just like the T20I series, all three ODIs of India Women's tour of Bangladesh 2023 will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
