Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka recent form
Bangladesh have won just three Test matches since 2020, and there will be added pressure on the hosts to pick up a win in the second Test to notch their second win of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship campaign.
The Tigers’ last success was an eight-wicket over New Zealand in January 2022. Fielding first, Bangladesh restricted the hosts to 328 in the first innings and then took a 130-run lead by scoring 458. Shakib Al Hasan’s 6/46 saw the Black Caps being bowled out for 169 and Bangladesh chasing down a 40-run target in 16.5 overs.
Sri Lanka, meanwhile, are winless in their last three Tests. They last registered victory in red-ball cricket with a 2-0 series win over West Indies at home in November 2021. After a 187-run victory in the first Test, an unbeaten 155 from Dhananjaya de Silva - who also took five catches - inspired the Lankan Lions to a 164-run win against the Windies.

Sri Lanka, who batted first, hit a first innings score of 397 with Angelo Matthews falling short of a well-deserved double century (199 runs). Bangladesh, in turn, rode on centuries from Tamim Iqbal (133) and Mushfiqur Rahim (105) to post a total of 465.
Sri Lanka pulled off the draw as they scored 260/6 and covered up a 68-run deficit thanks to the efforts of Niroshan Dickwella (61) and skipper Dimuth Karunaratne (52).
Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test prediction
Bangladesh will start as favourites on Monday based on how they performed in the first Test and the obvious home-turf advantage.
Although Sri Lanka dominate the head-to-head record, Mominul Haque’s Bangladesh team have won five of their last eight Tests at the Shere Bangla Stadium.
