The Bangladesh vs New Zealand ODIs 2023 will start on September 21 and run till September 26 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Just before the ICC World Cup 2023, the Bangladesh cricket team will host New Zealand for a three-match ODI series across six days at home.

Hosts Bangladesh are currently seventh in the ICC ODI rankings, while New Zealand are sixth.

Bangladesh and New Zealand have met each other 38 times in ODI cricket. The Kiwis have registered victories on 28 occasions, while Bangladesh have secured just 10 wins.

Both sides have rested a few of their World Cup-bound players to avoid injury scares ahead of the marquee ICC event.

Bangladesh will start their training on September 19 for the series whose games are scheduled on September 21, 23 and 26.

Experienced duo Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah have been named in the 15-member Bangladesh squad for the opening two ODIs of the series.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also decided to rest their regular captain Shakib Al Hasan for the series. In his absence, Litton Das will lead the team against the Black Caps.

Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud and Shoriful Islam, who were part of the recent Asia Cup squad, have all been rested.

In the absence of Kane Williamson and Tom Latham, Lockie Ferguson will lead the Kiwis against Bangladesh. New Zealand will also be without Tim Southee - who will be in a race to find full fitness ahead of the World Cup after a thumb injury.

The three-match series will be crucial for both sides before they embark on the biggest tournament of the year in October and November.

All the Bangladesh vs New Zealand ODIs 2023 matches will be hosted at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
