The Australia Women vs India Women ODI 2024 series will start in Brisbane on Thursday, December 5.

As per the Australia Women vs India Women ODI 2024 schedule, the opening two One-Day Internationals of the three-match series will be played at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane on December 5 and 8.

The third and final ODI is scheduled to be held at the W.A.C.A. Ground in Perth on December 11.

The upcoming three-match ODI series is part of the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25.

Having registered 13 wins, suffered three losses while two ODIs ended in no results, Australia Women are placed on top of the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25 standings with 28 points.

Currently ranked number one in the ICC women’s ODI team rankings, the Australia women’s national cricket team will be without their regular captain Alyssa Healy as she is still recovering from a knee injury. However, Alyssa Healy is expected to return for Australia’s forthcoming ODI series against New Zealand later in the month.

In the absence of Healy, Tahlia McGrath will lead Australia in the ODI series against India.

Queensland top-order batter Georgia Voll has received her maiden national call-up for the India series.

Representing Sydney Thunder Women, Georgia Voll was in scintillating form in the recently-concluded WBBL 2024, having amassed 330 runs in 12 matches at an average of 30 and a strike rate of 144.73.

On the other hand, the India women’s national cricket team will head into the series after securing a 2-1 ODI series win over New Zealand at home in October.

The Women in Blue will once again be led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur while Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy.

Meanwhile, India Women have dropped swashbuckling opener Shafali Verma for the three-match ODI series Down Under.

Verma has been in poor form, having scored just 56 runs in the recent home series against New Zealand.

Ahead of the series, the visitors suffered a huge blow as wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia was ruled out after succumbing to a wrist injury. Uma Chetry has been named as her replacement.

India Women will also miss the services of young off-spinner Shreyanka Patil, who is yet to recover from shin splints.

Middle-order batter Harleen Deol has made a comeback in the Indian squad after playing her last game for India in December 2023.

Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh has also returned to the ODI squad after she missed the New Zealand series due to her Class 12 board exams.

Right-arm off-spinner Minnu Mani has received her maiden ODI call-up while young pacer Titas Sadhu has also been included in the 16-member squad.

Ranked third in the ICC women’s ODI team rankings, India Women are also placed third in the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25 standings with 25 points.
