Both Group 1 teams have endured one win and a loss in the competition so far.
The Aaron Finch-led Australian side was humbled by New Zealand in the competition’s curtain-raiser as the Kiwis won an unanticipated one-sided contest by 89 runs.
Finn Allen’s blazing 16-ball 42 and Devon Conway’s fiery 92 off 58 balls helped New Zealand post a daunting total of 200/3.
Thereafter, the Aussie batting line-up crumbled under pressure and got bowled out for 111, with pacer Tim Southee and spinner Mitchell Santner taking three wickets each. Glenn Maxwell was the highest scorer for the hosts, with a fighting 20-ball 28.
However, they bounced back to win their previous match against Sri Lanka by seven wickets, where Marcus Stoinis became the player with the second fastest fifty in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, scoring a match-winning 18-ball 59 while chasing 158.
On the other hand, the England cricket team won the opening match against Afghanistan by five wickets as Sam Curran’s five-wicket haul coupled with the batters' gritty show took the 2010 champions over the line.
In their previous match, England faced a defeat against Ireland after a rain-curtailed encounter handed the Irish side a five-run win. The Englishmen were on course for a victory with Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone in the middle before rain had the final say in the proceedings.
Both England and Australia will now look for the all-important win in this fixture as another defeat would mean an uphill task for the team along with dependency on other results for a spot in the semis.

In 23 T20Is, England have won on 11 occasions while the Australians have claimed victory on 10 instances. Two matches ended in no result.
Australia and England have faced each other three times in the T20 World Cup since the inception of the competition, with the latter winning it twice and the Aussies winning it once.
In the inaugural edition of World Twenty20, the Aussies won the group stage match convincingly by eight wickets. Nonetheless, England avenged the defeat by beating their rivals in the final of the T20 World Cup three years later in 2010 to lift their first and only trophy in the history of the competition.
The recent three-match T20I bilateral series between the two teams saw England win the first two games by an identical margin of eight runs. The third game ended with no result.
