The Australian cricket team will lock horns with arch-rivals England in a three-match T20I series starting on Sunday, October 9.

Both Australia and England will play their final T20I series ahead of the marquee ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 to be held Down Under.

Meanwhile, reigning men’s T20 world champions Australia have decided to rotate their players in order to get their best combination as they aim to defend their title on home soil.

Led by captain Aaron Finch, Australia have decided to rest most of their frontline attack comprising Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa for the first T20I in Perth. Along with their frontline attack, the hosts have rested all-rounder Glenn Maxwell for the opening match of the series.

All five cricketers will return for the remaining two T20Is to be played at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.

Meanwhile, Marcus Stoinis, Ashton Agar, Kane Richardson, Nathan Ellis and Mitchell Swepson will join the Australia T20I squad in Perth. Stoinis, Agar and Richardson will continue to remain with the squad for the remainder of the T20I series against England.

Australia are currently squaring off against West Indies in a two-match T20I series at home.

On the other hand, the England cricket team head into the Australia series brimming with confidence, having beaten hosts Pakistan 4-3 in a seven-match T20I series.

The visitors, led by captain Jos Buttler, have announced their 15-member squad for the Australia T20I series.

England have received a massive boost with the return of their star all-rounders Ben Stokes and Liam Livingstone.

While red-ball captain Stokes was rested for the Pakistan tour after a hectic summer schedule, Livingstone has returned to the squad after recovering from an injury.
