The Australia cricket team has brought in all-rounder Moises Henriques to the squad for the first Test match starting from December 17, as Sean Abbott became the latest player to be added to the injury list.
The South Wales all-rounder picked up a calf injury during the day-night tour match at the SCG on Saturday and is expected to return for the second Test, starting from December 26 in Melbourne. While Abbott continues his rehabilitation in Sydney, Australia have seen a steady recovery in all-rounder Cameron Green.
Henriques will join Green and Mitchell Starc in a flight to Adelaide on Monday, after passing a fitness test following his previous hamstring strain that had ruled him out of Australia A team's game.
Henriques joins in the long list of injury replacement that Australia had ahead of the Test series, with the latest one being Marcus Harris replacing a concussed Will Pucovski, who was struck on the helmet during Australia A match against India at Drummoyne Oval.
Henriques has been back into the scheme of things for the first time since 2016 and was part of the national team in ODIs and T20Is. He has played four Test matches in his career so far, where he has managed two fifties and taken two wickets.
He will add to the six batting options in the squad for Tim Paine who will have to choose from Steven Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Travis Head, Matthew Wade, Joe Burns, Marcus Harris and Cameron Green.
