The Australia Domestic One-Day Cup 2024-25 will kickstart in Sydney on September 22.
Organised by Cricket Australia, the One-Day Cup 2024-25 will see six teams compete against each other for a total of 22 matches over a period of more than five months. The final of the One-Day Cup 2024-25 is slated to happen on March 1, 2025.
Three-time defending champions Western Australia will take on New South Wales in the opening match of the One-Day Cup 2024-25 at the Cricket Central in Sydney in a repeat of last season’s final.
Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania are the other teams in the tournament.
Each team will play seven games in the league phase, twice against two teams and once against the remaining three teams. The top two teams at the end of the league stage will play in the final of the tournament.
The One-Day Cup 2024-25 matches will happen alongside the Sheffield Shield 2024-25, Australia’s premier multi-day domestic tournament, which will be held from October 2024 to March 2025.
The One-Day Cup 2024-25 matches will be played across six venues. Western Australia will play their home matches at Perth whereas New South Wales have their home matches at Sydney. Victoria will have Melbourne as their home and South Australia will be based at Adelaide.
Tasmania will play their home games at Hobart and Queensland will host their games at Brisbane.
Western Australia won last year’s One-Day Cup for a third straight time, beating New South Wales by five wickets in the final.
