The Australian cricket team’s schedule for the summer of 2022-23 begins with the ODI series against Zimbabwe from August 28.
In total, the Andrew McDonald-coached side will play a combined 28 Test and limited-overs international matches. This excludes the T20 World Cup 2022.
The Kangaroos’ home season will see them entertain as many as six teams - Zimbabwe (ODIs), New Zealand (ODIs), West Indies (T20Is and Tests), England (T20Is and ODIs), South Africa (Tests and ODIs) and Pakistan (women’s ODI and T20Is).
Australia will also make a small stop to India in mid-September for a three-match T20I series.
The Australian cricket team will play the T20I series against West Indies and multi-format bilateral series against England on either side of the T20 World Cup 2022 schedule, with the 20-over matches helping the Aaron Finch-led Kangaroos to prepare for their title defence.
As hosts, Australia will begin the Super 12 schedule of the big-ticket event against neighbours New Zealand on October 22.
The men's cricket team will play five Tests in the summer, and each will be played across barely six weeks.
The ODI series against South Africa, initially planned to be played after the Test series in January, is currently in limbo given the CSA (Cricket South Africa) board’s request to prepone the series before the Tests.
Meanwhile, the Australian women’s cricket team will entertain Pakistan for a multi-format limited overs series in January.
