The blockbuster fixture of Asia Cup 2022, India vs Pakistan, will be played on August 28 at the Dubai International Stadium. The Asia Cup, which has been in existence since 1984, will feature six teams in this edition and starts from August 27 with the final scheduled for September 11.
The teams have been divided into two groups of three teams each. The top five Asian teams have gained automatic qualification while the final spot will be decided through qualifiers.
Group A consists of India, Pakistan and a qualifier. On the other hand, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are slotted in Group B. The qualifying team that will complete Group A will be one of Kuwait, Singapore, UAE or Hong Kong.

Group A: India, Pakistan, Qualifier
Group B: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan
It’s important to note that while Sri Lanka still has the hosting rights, the tournament will be played in the UAE due to the political turmoil in the island nation.
The matches will be played across three different venues, namely, Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and Abu Dhabi Cricket Stadium.
India are the current Asia Cup defending champions. The Men in Blue defeated Bangladesh in 2018.
Lastly, the upcoming 15th edition of the Asia Cup will be in the 20-over format as the teams look to continue their preparations ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia, which is slated to begin from October.
