Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun Tendulkar was signed by reigning champions Mumbai for Rs 20 lakhs in the Indian T20 League auction on Thursday, February 18.
The 21-year-old was the last name to come up in the auction and received a solitary bid from home-team Mumbai, who sealed his signature for his base price. Needless to say, almost every one expected Arjun to be picked up by a team which his father Sachin represented from 2008 till 2013.
Cricket in his blood. Refined in the nets. Now ready to take the 22-yards by storm 💙

Before the auction, the young youngster made the headlines for his unbeaten 77 runs off 31 balls and a three-wicket haul that powered his team MIG Cricket Club to a 194-run win over Islam Gymkhana in the Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2020-2021. He also made his senior debut as a Mumbai cricketer in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in January, scalping two wickets in as many games.
The youngster has played for the Mumbai domestic team at the Under-19, Under-16, and Under-14 levels in the past. He has, since, gone on to represent India at the U-19 level in their tour of Sri Lanka in 2018, and is one of the net bowlers for the senior Indian cricket team.
While everyone will be eager to see how Arjun Tendulkar can showcase his brilliance with the bat, given he is the son of the Master Blaster, the 21-year-old is likely to explore himself more as a bowler than a batsman.
