The Ireland cricket team will head into the three-match ODI series brimming with confidence after beating Afghanistan by six wickets in the Only Test of the series at the Tolerance Oval in Abu Dhabi. Afghanistan will be led by Hashmatullah Shahidi while Rahmat Shah will be Hashmatullah’s deputy.
The Afghans will miss the services of their star spinners Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman due to injuries.
In their absence, uncapped spinners Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar and Nangeyalia Kharote are the two new faces added in Afghanistan's ODI squad.
Right-arm pacer Bilal Sami has been promoted from the reserves to the main squad.
