Max Waight, a 12-year-old kid from Australia, got to live his dream recently after he got an opportunity of watching the fourth Ashes Test with his favourite superstars in Manchester.

"I sat next to Steve Waugh, Justin Langer, and Nathan Lyon. Justin Langer showed me the plan book which was amazing to see all his notes and talking to Steve Waugh was amazing too," cricket.com.au quoted Max as saying.

"Steve Smith and Pat Cummins are my favourites. I got to talk to them about how they prepare and play the game. It was very enjoyable," he added.

After watching his team lifting the World Cup title in 2015, Max decided to watch his heroes locking horns with England in 2019 at the Ashes in their own backyard. For that to happen, his father, Damien, said if he can raise $1,500 (AUD) within the time, they will indeed fly to the UK.

And a with a goal set and rolling, Max and his mum came up with a brilliant idea of dumping the neighbours' bins over the weekends for a mere charge of $1 per household. Max decided to write a letter to all of his neighbours, and the next thing they knew they had as many as 10 families approving the idea.

Four years on, the mission was accomplished and as promised, Damien booked the tickets and took the entire family to England for the fourth Ashes Test.

"When I said it, I had to follow through. If he saved up the money, I wasn't going to let him down," Damien said.

"You don't fast forward in your mind at the start and think you're going to do it, but it's good that we are here. It's an amazing experience. We've got our whole family and another close family that we're friends with. We're just making memories," he added.

Max and his brother arrived at Old Trafford on the team bus, and during the lunch on Day 2, bowler James Pattinson gifted him a playing shirt signed by the Australian squad.
