A multi-purpose stadium in Roseau, Windsor Park is Dominica’s national stadium and is primarily used for cricket as well as association football matches at times.
Established in 2007, it is of International Cricket Council (ICC) standards and has the capacity to house 12,000 spectators.
It is not only home to the West Indies cricket team, the Windward Islands cricket team, football club Exodus FC, and the Dominica national football team.
While the first international cricket match at this venue was an ODI between West Indies and Bangladesh in July 2009, the first Test on the ground in July 2011, featuring West Indies and India ended as a draw.

After putting in Zimbabwe to bat first and bowling them out for 175, West Indies powered by Chris Gayle (101), Shivnarine Chanderpaul (108), and Denesh Ramdin (86) scored 381/8 declared. Their total is the highest in Tests at the venue and they went on to bundle out Zimbabwe for 141 in the Chevrons’ second innings to register an innings and 65-run win to seal the series 2-0.
Lowest total
The same match that witnessed the Windies make the highest total also saw Zimbabwe register the lowest total on the ground. After succumbing for just 175 in the second Test of their two-match series against West Indies in 2013, West Indies made 381/8 declared. Zimbabwe in their second innings only managed 141 - the lowest total on the ground. West Indies won the match by an innings and 65 runs to seal a 2-0 win in the series.
Most runs
Shivnarine Chanderpaul has scored the most runs at Windsor Park in Dominica. In three matches, Chanderpaul scored 384 runs at an average of 96. He struck two hundreds and two fifties at the venue with a best score of an unbeaten 116.
Most wickets
Shane Shillingford has the record for most wickets at Windsor Park. He took 20 wickets in two matches at an average of 15.60. Shillingford's best bowling figures in an innings on this ground was 6/119 against Australia in 2012.
Highest individual score
In the first Test of a two-match series against West Indies in 2015, Australian batter Adam Voges made the highest individual score at this venue. Batting first, West Indies were bundled out for a mere 148 and Australia went on to post 318 powered by Voges’ 130 not out - the highest individual score at Windsor Park. West Indies managed to make 216 in their second innings and set the Aussies a 47-run target, which the tourists chased down comfortably to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Best bowling figures in an innings
The same Test that saw Adam Voges make the highest individual score at this venue also witnessed Devendra Bishoo register the best bowling figures in an innings on the ground. After batting first and being bundled for 148 by Australia, West Indies’ Devendra Bishoo produced a spell of 6/80 to restrict the Aussies to 318. Even though Australia went on to eventually win the Test comfortably, Devendra Bishoo's figures of 6/80 remain the best bowling figures in an innings by any bowler at Windsor Park.
Best bowling figures in a match
Shane Shillingford holds the record for the best bowling figures in a match at Windsor Park. During the second Test of a two-match series against Zimbabwe in 2013, hosts West Indies put Zimbabwe into bat and bundled them out for 175 with Shillingford taking 5/59 in the first innings. West Indies then posted 381/8 before declaring and skittled out the Chevrons for 141 in their second innings as Shillingford bagged five wickets for 34 runs. His bowling effort in both innings saw him finish the match with figures of 10/93 and give the Windies an innings and 65-run win.
Highest partnership
The second Test between West Indies and Zimbabwe in 2013 was indeed a match where plenty of records were created. Apart from the ones already mentioned, the highest partnership at Windsor Park was also made in it. Having bundled out the Chevrons for 175 in their first innings, West Indies made 381/8 with Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Denesh Ramdin putting on a 173-run stand for the fifth wicket - the highest partnership on the ground. Their knocks helped set up a convincing win for the Windies.
