This performance was an improvement on the 153.3 kmph delivery he bowled against Gujarat on April 11. Malik had also bowled a 153.1 kmph delivery against Chennai in their previous match. Bowling the first ball of his second over, Umran Malik touched the 153 mark and his delivery hit the pads of Ambati Rayudu on leg side. An appeal for LBW was made but an inside edge saw Rayudu survive at the crease.
