The T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to be co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States from June 1-29.
Organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup will see 20 teams compete in a total of 55 matches.
As many as 41 matches of the T20 World Cup 2024 including two semi-finals and the final will be played in the Caribbean across six different islands. The remaining 14 matches will be hosted in the United States across three venues. Know T20 World Cup 2024 venues.
T20 World Cup 2024 venues: Two countries, nine stadiums
Arnos Vale Stadium
The Arnos Vale Stadium is one of the T20 World Cup 2024 venues located in the Caribbean’s volcanic island of Saint Vincent. With a seating capacity of 18,000, the Arnos Vale Stadium will host five T20 World Cup 2024 matches including two Super 8 games. The Bangladesh cricket team will play two matches against the Netherlands and Nepal. The Arnos Vale Stadium has staged two T20 international matches so far.
Brian Lara Cricket Academy
Trinidad and Tobago’s Brian Lara Cricket Academy is another T20 World Cup 2024 venue that will host five matches including a semi-final. The New Zealand cricket team is scheduled to play three of their matches in the upcoming T20 World Cup. The Kiwis will lock horns with co-hosts West Indies, Uganda and Papua New Guinea at this venue. Afghanistan will also play one game against Papua New Guinea. Inaugurated in 2017, Brian Lara Cricket Academy has hosted four T20Is so far.
Central Broward Regional Park Stadium
The Central Broward Regional Park Stadium will be one of the three United States stadiums to host T20 World Cup 2024 matches. Located in Lauderhill, Florida, the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium will stage four matches in the T20 World Cup. The Indian cricket team is scheduled to play Canada at this venue. Ireland will face co-hosts United States and Pakistan in Lauderhill. Sri Lanka and Nepal will also clash at this ground. Established in 2007, the venue has staged more than 15 T20 internationals.
Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium
The T20 World Cup 2024 venues list also includes the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium located near Gros Islet, Saint Lucia. As many as six matches including three Super 8 matches will be staged at this picturesque venue. Australia, Scotland, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, West Indies and Afghanistan will play one T20 World Cup 2024 match at this ground. Inaugurated in 2002, the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium has hosted more than 15 T20 internationals.
Grand Prairie Stadium
The Grand Prairie Stadium is one of the T20 World Cup 2024 venues that will host matches in the United States. As per the schedule, the venue will host four matches in the T20 World Cup located in Dallas, Texas. The opening match of the T20 World Cup 2024 between United States and Canada will be played at this ground. The United States will also take on Pakistan at this venue. Netherlands, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will play one of their games at the Grand Prairie Stadium. Interestingly, the T20 World Cup 2024 opener will be the first T20 international that will be played at this venue.
Kensington Oval
Among all the T20 World Cup 2024 venues, the Kensington Oval will host most matches in the tournament. One of the world’s oldest cricket grounds located to the west of Bridgetown on the island of Barbados, the Kensington Oval will host nine T20 World Cup 2024 matches including the marquee final. It will also host three Super 8 matches. The ODI World Cup holder Australia will square off against defending champions England at this venue in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Established in 1871, the Kensington Oval has staged more than 20 T20 internationals so far.
Nassau County International Cricket Stadium
The new Nassau County International Cricket Stadium is the third venue that will host T20 World Cup 2024 matches in the United States. Located in New York, the stadium is scheduled to stage eight T20 World Cup 2024 games including the high-profile India-Pakistan encounter. Apart from facing arch-rivals Pakistan,the Indian cricket team will also face Canada and the United States at this venue. South Africa will also play three games versus Sri Lanka, the Netherlands and Bangladesh.
Providence Stadium
Guyana’s Providence Stadium has also been selected as one of the venues for the T20 World Cup 2024. Located to the west of Bridgetown on the island of Barbados, the Providence Stadium will host six T20 World Cup 2024 matches including one semi-final clash. Co-hosts West Indies will begin their campaign against Papua New Guinea and later face Uganda at this venue. Afghanistan are scheduled to play Uganda and New Zealand at the Providence Stadium. Inaugurated in 2006 with a seating capacity of 20,000, it has hosted over 10 T20I matches so far.
Sir Vivian Richards Stadium
The iconic Sir Vivian Richards Stadium is the ninth and final venue for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Named after West Indies cricket legend Vivian Richards, the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium has been allocated eight T20 World Cup 2024 matches including four Super 8 clashes. Oman, England and Namibia will play two games at this venue. Australia and Scotland are scheduled to play one match at this ground. Established in 2007, the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium has hosted more than 10 T20 internationals.
