Established in 2000, the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium is located in Sri Lanka and has a capacity of 16,800.

Floodlights were installed on the ground in 2003 and the stadium has also marquee ICC events like the 2011 ODI World Cup.

This venue hasn’t held a Test match yet but has hosted plenty of ODI and T20I matches for both men and women.

The first-ever match at this venue saw India take on England in an ODI in 2001 while the first women’s ODI was held seven years later with Sri Lanka hosting Pakistan.

The Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Sri Lanka is set to host all the 2024 Women’s Asia Cup matches.

Highest total: India hold the record for the highest total in women’s T20Is at this venue. During the fifth T20 of the Women's Asia Cup 2024, India set UAE a target of 201/5 to chase - the highest team score in the format on this ground. In reply, the UAE Women scored 123/7 in 17 overs. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was the top run-getter with a 47-ball 66 while Richa Ghosh scored an unbeaten 64 to help India to a 78-run win. 

Lowest total: Malaysia has the record for the lowest total in women’s T20Is on this ground. While chasing a target of 185 set by Sri Lanka in the seventh T20 of the Women's Asia Cup in 2024, Malaysia were restricted to 40/10 in their 19.5 overs. The hosts won the match by 144 runs. 

Most runs: Chamari Athapaththu from Sri Lanka has scored the most runs in women’s T20Is at this venue. She’s made 382 runs in seven matches at an average of 95.50 and a strike rate of 140.44 on this ground.

Most wickets: India’s Deepti Sharma boasts the record for taking the most wickets in women’s T20Is. She’s taken 12 wickets in three seven at an impressive average of 11.58 and an economy of 5.34 on this ground.

Highest individual score: During match seven of the Women's Asia Cup in 2024, Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu registered the highest individual score at this venue in women’s T20Is. Batting first against Malaysia Women, Sri Lanka rode on skipper Athapaththu's 119 not out from 69 balls. Her blazing knock included 14 boundaries and seven sixes. Sri Lanka set up 184/4 in 20 overs. Malaysia stumbled out for 40 in 19.5 overs, leading to Sri Lanka's win by a mammoth 144 runs.

Best bowling figures: Bangladesh all-rounder Rabeya Khan is the player who has registered the best bowling figures in T20Is on this ground. During the eighth T20 of the Women's Asia Cup 2024, Rabeya took the wickets of Nattaya Boochatham, Aphisara Suwanchonrathi, Nannapat Koncharoenkai and Suwanan Khiaoto to finish with figures of 4/14 and restrict Nepal to 96/9. Rabeya's top spell set the tone for Bangladesh's victory as they chased down the target in 17.3 overs to win by seven wickets. 

Highest partnership: Indian duo Dayalan Hemalatha and Shafali Verma hold the record for the highest partnership in women’s T20Is on this ground. During Match 10 of the Women's Asia Cup 2024, the opening pair put on a 122-run stand before Hemalatha was dismissed. She made 47 runs while Shafali scored an impressive 48-ball 81, propelling India's score to 178/3 against Nepal. India won the match by 82 runs.
