The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, also known as the Hyderabad Cricket Stadium, is situated in Hyderabad.
Established in 2003, it has a maximum capacity of 55,000 and is the home ground for the Hyderabad Cricket Stadium and Indian T20 League side Team Hyderabad.
Ever since hosting its first international game in 2005 when India faced South Africa in an ODI, the stadium has hosted five Tests, seven ODIs and two T20Is. This stadium also hosted the final of the Indian T20 League in 2017 and 2019.

He has 16 fifties and three centuries at this venue with an average of 62.32 and a strike rate of 160.97.
In T20Is, Virat Kohli is the top run-getter here with 157 runs from two games, including a highest score of 94 not out.
Most wickets
No player has more wickets at this venue than Indian seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He’s taken a total of 49 wickets while representing India and Indian T20 League sides Pune and Hyderabad. He has a best of 5/19 at this venue along with a decent economy of 8.01.
As far as T20Is go, Indian spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel have the most T20I wickets, having bagged three wickets each.
Highest individual score
There have been as many as eight centurions in T20s at the venue. Out of these eight, three have come off the bat of David Warner, who also happens to have the highest individual score at this venue. While playing for Team Hyderabad in the 2017 Indian T20 League season, he scored a 59-ball 126 to help his team beat Kolkata by 48 runs.
Virat Kohli’s 94 not out against West Indies during an eventual six-wicket win for India in 2019 is the highest individual T20I score here.
Best bowling figures
The best bowling figures in T20s at this venue belongs to Alzarri Joseph, who recorded figures of 6/12 for Mumbai against Hyderabad in the 2019 Indian T20 League campaign. His spell helped Mumbai register a 40-run win.
The best bowling spell in T20Is here belongs to India’s Axar Patel, who finished with figures of 3/33 during a six-wicket win against Australia in September 2022.
Highest team total
Indian T20 League side Hyderabad have the highest team total at this venue. They hammered 277/3 in their allotted 20 overs against Mumbai during the 2024 edition of the T20 tournament.
India’s 209/4 is the highest T20I score recorded at the international level at the venue. Chasing 208 to win, Virat Kohli smashed an unbeaten 94 as the Men in Blue picked up a six-wicket win.
Lowest team total
The lowest team total at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium for a T20 match with its full quota of 20 overs came during the first semi-final of the 2011 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Chasing a target of 115 to win against Bengal, Tamil Nadu were bundled out for a mere 59 runs.
A high-scoring venue in T20Is, the lowest total registered here is Australia’s 186/7 which they posted in September 2022. In reply, India chased down the target with six wickets and a ball to spare.
Highest partnership
The highest-ever partnership in T20s at this ground came in May 2012 when Team Delhi faced Team Deccan in the Indian T20 League. Chasing a target of 188 set by Team Deccan, Delhi chased down the score comfortably, winning the game by nine wickets and 20 balls to spare. After an early wicket, David Warner and Naman Ojha put on an unbeaten partnership of 189 to win the game.
In 20-over international matches, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav’s 104-run stand against Australia in 2022 is the highest at this venue. The Men in Blue won the match by six wickets.
