Defending champions Mumbai will look to get back to winning ways when they host Team Rajasthan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 29, Thursday, in the 24th match of Indian T20 league 2021.
Both Mumbai and Rajasthan have won just two of their opening five fixtures although the latter has been the victim of inferior net run rate (-0.681) as they sit seventh in the points table. Mumbai, on the other hand, are fourth with -0.032 NRR.
However, despite the current form and overall success in the tournament history - with Mumbai winning the title five times and Rajasthan just once, the spoils of the Mumbai vs Rajasthan head-to-head is equally shared.

The numbers, however, don't justify the names Mumbai have on paper. The five-time Indian T20 League champions are one of the best batting sides on paper and have averaged 175.6 when batting first in their last five matches.
Rajasthan, on the other hand, have averaged 145.8 when batting first in the same number of matches and would want to win the toss and limit Mumbai to chasing. And given Mumbai's toss win record in the last five matches, Rajasthan will be optimistic about taking the early advantage in the game.

Mumbai's biggest hope in this fixture will be their skipper Rohit Sharma, who has tallied 490 runs in 22 matches with two half-centuries against Rajasthan so far. The same goes for Rajasthan, who will have their skipper Sanju Samson to lead the way against Mumbai after having scored 446 runs and five half-centuries against them.
With the ball, Mumbai will look to bring on veteran spinner Piyush Chawla against Rajasthan given his 21 scalps against his opponent at a strike rate of 19.5. For Rajasthan, Jaydev Unadkat will be the sharpest weapon given his 14 wickets against Mumbai in 13 matches so far.
