Former captain MS Dhoni has recorded the most dismissals by India wicket-keeper across formats in international cricket.
Having made his international debut against Bangladesh in an One-Day International (ODI) match in 2004, Dhoni ended his India career with 823 dismissals in 535 games, including 631 catches and 192 stumpings.
The 2011 World Cup-winning captain, Dhoni recorded 318 catches and 120 stumpings in 347 matches in the 50-over format before retiring in 2019.
In the Test format, the Ranchi-born cricketer effected 256 catches and 38 stumpings in 90 matches between 2005 and 2014.
Dhoni also recorded 91 dismissals, including 57 catches and 34 stumpings in 98 T20I matches he played in his career.
The 2007 ICC World T20 World Cup-winning skipper also holds the record for most dismissals in all three formats for India.
Nayan Mongia features second on the list for most dismissals by India wicket-keeper across formats in international cricket.
Between 1994 and 2001, Mongia recorded 261 dismissals in 184 matches for India.
The Gujarat-born cricketer effected 154 dismissals (110 catches and 44 stumpings) in 140 ODIs and 107 dismissals (99 catches and eight stumpings) in 44 Tests.
The 1983 World Cup winner Syed Kirmani is third on the list for most dismissals by India wicket-keeper across formats.
Kirmani completed 234 dismissals, including 187 catches and 47 stumpings in 137 matches between 1976 and 1986.
Former selector Kiran More and current first-choice gloveman Rishabh Pant complete the top five list for most dismissals by India wicket-keeper across formats.
While More recorded 220 dismissals (173 catches and 47 stumpings) in 143 matches, Pant has already completed 147 dismissals in 96 games, comprising 131 catches and 16 stumpings.
