Australia women's national cricket team captain Meg Lanning announced her retirement from all forms of international cricket with immediate effect.
Meg Lanning represented Australia in six Tests, 103 one-day internationals and 132 Twenty20 internationals. The 31-year-old is likely to continue playing domestic cricket in Australia and possibly India.
In her career spanning almost 13 years, Lanning retired from international cricket with seven World Cup titles, five of which are ICC Women's T20 World Cups and two ICC Women's ODI World Cups.
The Singapore-born cricketer amassed 8,352 runs in 241 matches since making her international debut against New Zealand in a T20I in December 2010. She slammed 17 hundreds and 38 half-centuries in her illustrious career.
“The decision to step away from international cricket was a difficult one to make, but I feel now is the right time for me,” Lanning said in a statement.
“I’ve been incredibly fortunate to enjoy a 13-year international career,” she added.
