Mayank Yadav made his much-anticipated international debut against Bangladesh in a T20I against Bangladesh at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, October 6.

During the first T20I of Bangladesh’s tour of India 2024, Mayank Yadav was handed his debut cap by former India left-arm spinner Murali Kartik ahead of the opening T20I of a three-match series in Gwalior.

India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav later brought Mayank to bowl the sixth over of the match.

The Delhi-born right-arm pacer clocked 141.8kph in his very first delivery to Bangladesh top-order batter Towhid Hridoy on his international debut. He later increased his pace to 145.7kph and then recorded speeds of 137.9kph, 147.3kph, 135.1kph and 147.6kph as became just the third Indian bowler to begin his T20I career with a maiden over. Ajit Agarkar and Arshdeep Singh are the other Indian bowlers to achieve the impressive feat.

Mayank later started his second over with a 148.7kph delivery to Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto.

The 22-year-old later bagged his maiden T20 international wicket as he clocked 146.1 to dismiss Mohammad Mahmudullah, who gave an easy catch to Washington Sundar at deep point.

Mayank later produced his fastest ball in international cricket as he produced a 149.9kph to Jaker Ali. He then bowled a slower delivery which clocked 113.3kph and concluded his second over with speeds of 142.7kph and 139.9kph.

The youngster later registered speeds of 140.7kph, 143.6kph, 148.4kph, 147.7kph, 146.7kph and 142.8kph in his third over.

Mayank once again brought on to the attack when Bangladesh were reeling at 117/9 to bowl the penultimate over. He changed his pace to deceive the batters as he clocked 145.6kph, 106.2kph, 145.1kph, 111.5kph, 145.8kph and 107.8kph.

Apart from his pace, Mayank bowled in accurate length and line to finish with figures of 4-1-21-1 on his debut.

The young speedster broke his own record after he had registered the fastest ball of the 2024 edition against Team Punjab in their previous fixture.

After making his Indian T20 League debut at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in 2024, Mayank produced a 155.8kph delivery to Punjab captain Shikhar Dhawan in the 12th over to become the fastest bowler at the Indian T20 League 2024.

In the same match, the youngster clocked 153.9kph, 153.4kph, 153.0kph and 152.0kph deliveries to grab attention across the world.

Mayank was later adjudged the Player of the Match after he finished with figures of 4-0-27-3 to guide Lucknow to a 21-run victory over Punjab.

The right-arm pacer produced another sensational spell against a star-studded Bengaluru batting line-up in his second match.

Mayank tormented the Bengaluru batters with his raw pace as he bowled consistently over 150 kph in the game.

The Lucknow fast bowler recorded 156.7kph, 155.2kph, 154.8kph, 153.2kph and 152.3kph deliveries to once again grab headlines across social media.

Having picked up seven wickets in four matches in the Indian T20 League 2024, Mayank has been touted as the next big thing in Indian cricket.
