Team Kolkata holds the record for the longest winning streak in the Indian T20 League. The two-time champions won a whopping 10 consecutive matches across the 2014-15 season.
Kolkata started the 2014 season with a fine win over Mumbai but went on to lose five of their next six matches.
Their winning run started on May 7, 2014, in their eighth league stage game against Delhi. Wins over, Punjab, Mumbai, Hyderabad (twice), Chennai and Bangalore followed as the team finished the group stage in second place.
Upon qualifying for the play-offs, the team squared off against eventual finalists Punjab. Led by Gautam Gambhir, Kolkata put on an excellent display to first beat them by 28 runs before getting the better of them in a high-scoring final by three wickets.
By the end of the 2014 season, Kolkata had won nine games on the trot. The team continued their winning run in the 2015 season, beating Mumbai by seven wickets in the tournament opener before going down by three wickets to Bangalore.
The second-longest winning streak in the Indian T20 League belongs to Team Punjab. They went on an eight-match winning run across 2013 as well as the 2014 season.
A run that started in their 14th league stage match of the 2013 season continued in their historic 2014 campaign where they finished at the top of the table. During that season, the team lost only three league matches before going down against Kolkata in the final.
Team Chennai (seven), Team Bangalore (seven) and Team Kolkata (six) occupy the top five list. While Chennai did it in the 2013 season, Bangalore and Kolkata achieved the feat in the 2011 and the 2012 campaigns, respectively.
