Uganda Women own the impressive record for the largest margin of victory by runs in women’s T20 International cricket.
During a Kwibuka tournament match in Rwanda in 2019, Uganda hammered Mali by 304 runs to record the biggest win in women’s T20I cricket in terms of runs.
Opting to bat first, opener Prosscovia Alako and captain Rita Musamali smashed blitzkrieg hundreds to power Uganda to a mammoth total of 314/2 in 20 overs, registering the second highest total in women's T20 cricket.
While Prosscovia Alako scored 116 runs off just 71 balls, Rita Musamali remained unbeaten on 61-ball 103. Astonishingly, Mali conceded 61 extras.
In reply, Mali Women were bundled out for 10 as they suffered a humiliating 304-run defeat. Tenin Konate top-scored for Mali as she managed four runs off 14 balls.
After being bowled out for an embarrassing score, Mali ended up recording the fourth lowest total in women’s T20 cricket. However, Mali’s lowest total in women’s T20 cricket came against hosts Rwanda in 2019, which is the second lowest total ever recorded in the shortest format of women’s cricket.
Bahrain Women hold the record for the second largest margin of victory by runs in women’s T20Is
Bahrain Women thrashed Saudi Arabia Women by 269 runs in a GCC Women’s T20 Championship Cup encounter at Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Oman in 2022.
Put into bat, Bahrain rode on Deepika Rasangika’s unbeaten 61-ball 161 and captain Tharanga Gajanayake’s 94 not out off 56 balls to post 318/1 in 20 overs, which is now the highest total in women’s T20 cricket.
In response, Saudi Arabia Women were restricted to 49/8 in their 20 overs as Bahrain scripted a huge victory.
Tanzania Women features twice next on the list. They secured a mammoth 268-run win over Mali in a Kwibuka tournament match in Rwanda in 2019.
Two years later in 2021, Tanzania Women defeated Eswatini Women by 256 runs at the Botswana Cricket Association Oval 1 Stadium.
Qatar Women complete the top five list, having hammered Saudi Arabia by 256 runs in a GCC Women’s T20 Championship Cup match at Al Amerat stadium in 2022.

Meanwhile, the Indian women’s cricket team recorded its largest margin of victory by runs against Malaysia in T20I cricket. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led India registered a 143-run win in a Women’s Asia Cup encounter in 2018.
During the Commonwealth Games 2022, India beat Barbados by 100 runs to register their second biggest win in women’s T20I cricket.
