Team Lucknow will take on Team Chennai in Match 7 of Indian T20 League 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium on Thursday, March 31. The match will start at 7:30 PM IST.
Both Lucknow and defending champions Chennai got their latest campaigns off to a disappointing start and will eye a change in fortunes on Thursday.
Newcomers Lucknow, led by KL Rahul, will take on Ravindra Jadeja’s Chennai for the first time in the Indian T20 League.
Lucknow vs Chennai key player battles
Quinton de Kock vs Moeen Ali
Quinton de Kock is one of the top-performing opening batters in recent years, scoring 1,336 runs since 2019. But in the 2022 edition, the South African star got off to a wrong start as he was dismissed for seven runs against Gujarat.
Poised to regain his run-scoring vigour once again, de Kock will need to get the better of a formidable foe in Moeen Ali. The pair have met on two occasions, with England all-rounder Ali dismissing Quinton de Kock twice in four deliveries. The latter has yet to score runs off Moeen Ali.

Robin Uthappa vs Krishnappa Gowtham
Robin Uthappa’s key battle against Krishnappa Gowtham is certainly one that cannot be ignored if compared to the well-known bowlers from the Lucknow camp he has faced in the past
The two have crossed paths in as many as two innings so far, but Uthappa has managed seven runs in 14 deliveries against the spinner while losing his wicket twice. This player battle could effectively change the tide of the contest in the middle overs.

Evin Lewis vs Dwayne Bravo
In this all-Caribbean tussle, Evin Lewis seems to be on the backfoot against Dwayne Bravo. Lewis, with 591 runs in 22 career matches in the Indian T20 League, has hit 12 runs in 13 balls bowled by Bravo and has been bowled out just once.
Dwayne Bravo is on the cusp of becoming the all-time leading wicket-taker in the Indian T20 League, and Evin Lewis could perhaps turn out to be the landmark victim.
