The Australian cricket team holds the record for the highest team score in the Under-19 Cup.

Three-time winners of the ICC Under-19 World Cup, Australia recorded the highest team score in their Group D encounter against Kenya in the 2002 ICC Under-19 World Cup.

Asked to bat first, Australia rode on centuries from opener Craig Simmons (155) and Shaun Marsh (125) to record a total of 480/6 in 50 overs. They eventually went on to win the match by 430 runs after bowling out Kenya for 50 in 21 overs.

By doing so, the Aussies bettered their previous tournament record of 398/6 which they had set against Papua New Guinea in 1998.

The New Zealand Under-19 cricket team sits second on the list for highest team score in the Under-19 Cup, having scored 436/4 against Kenya in the 2018 ICC Under-19 World Cup.

While opener Jakob Bhula top-scored with 180 runs, Rachin Ravindra produced an all-round performance as he hit 117 runs and picked up two wickets.

The Indian Under-19 cricket team is third on this list courtesy their 425/3 against Scotland in the 2004 edition of the tournament. The team led by Ambati Rayudu saw the likes of Robin Uthappa and Suresh Raina score 90s, while Player of the Match Shikhar Dhawan remained unbeaten on 155.

Kamindu Mendis’ Sri Lanka Under-19 team are fourth on this list. Electing to bat first in the 2018 edition of the tournament, the young Lankan Lions registered a total of 419/4 against Kenya thanks to Hasitha Boyagoda’s 191 runs off 152 deliveries, which is the highest individual score in Under-19 World Cup.

A day after Australia scripted history for the highest-ever score in the tournament in 2002, the West Indies Under-19 cricket team came close to eclipsing them with a total of 402/3 against Scotland Under-19.

Their top-order pairing of Donovan Pagon (176) and Lendl Simmons (121 not out) anchored the batting against a Scottish side that could score just 101 in 38.3 overs in response.
