David Warner is one of the most gifted batsmen ever to play the game and, the measure of his success in T20 cricket is certainly highlighted while playing in the Indian T20 League.
The 34-year-old opening batsman, who made his T20 debut in 2007 against Queensland, is one of four batsmen to have 10,000 runs in T20 cricket and is the leading overseas run-getter in the Indian T20 league with 5,447 runs in 148 matches.
Warner has eight centuries in T20 cricket, four of which have come in the Indian T20 League. The Hyderabad star finds himself in the company of Chris Gayle and compatriot Shane Watson as the overseas batsmen with four or more three-digit scores in the competition.
He’ll always be fondly remembered by Hyderabad fans for their championship-winning 2016 season, where he led from the front with 848 runs at a strike rate of 151.42. As a result of his efforts, including a 38-ball 69 in the final, the team beat a Bangalore side that had skipper Virat Kohli notch 973 runs - the most runs by a batsman in a single Indian T20 League campaign.
Even though he’s considered a prized scalp for any bowler, some like Stuart Broad in Tests seem to have got his number. Similarly in T20s, David Warner has been dismissed by nine bowlers on four or more occasions and here we take a look at those select bowlers.
