Ravindra Jadeja was at his brilliant best on the field during Chennai’s 45-run win over Rajasthan on Monday, taking four catches while fielding on the boundary besides also finishing with bowling figures of 2 for 28.
The fact that Jadeja is one of the best fielders in world cricket is common knowledge by now and his latest performance was another reminder of the Indian all-rounder’s prowess on the field.
However, Chennai captain MS Dhoni needs no reminding of what Jadeja is capable of and an eight-year-old tweet by the World Cup-winning Indian captain, which went viral after the three-time Indian T20 League champions’ win last night shows that.
MS Dhoni’s tweet on Jadeja read, “Sir jadeja doesn't run to take the catch but the ball finds him and lands on his hand.”

Dhoni and Jadeja have formed a good partnership and understanding over the years, winning innumerable games for Chennai and India during that time.
The last time the two were seen on the field representing India, they almost led the Men in Blue to a miraculous win over New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup semi-final as they helped stage a recovery from being 92 for 6 to putting on a 116-run stand together in what turned out to be Dhoni’s last international match.
Known to have pushed for Jadeja’s inclusion to the Indian side in the all-rounder’s early days in international cricket, Dhoni has always shared a close bond with the left-hander on and off the field.
He became a mainstay in Dhoni’s Chennai team since 2013 and took the most wickets (12) in India's 2013 Champions Trophy triumph, which earned him a spot in the Team of the Tournament alongside his skipper.
The pair have enjoyed plenty of success over their illustrious careers and while Dhoni isn’t the most active person on social media, his Jofra Archer-esque tweet gives us an insight into the bond that the pair share.
Dhoni’s old tweets on Jadeja, in fact, frequently resurface after being dug up by die-hard fans of one of India’s most successful skippers and it’s safe to say that they have quite a lot of material to work with.
