New Zealand’s Jackie Lord holds the record for best bowling figures in Women’s World Cup history.
The leg-break bowler, who played 15 ODIs for the New Zealand women’s cricket team, took six wickets for a mere 10 runs in eight overs during a fixture against India women at the 1982 Women’s World Cup.
Glenys Page features as the second-best cricketer with the best bowling figures in the ICC Women’s World Cup. Despite a short-lived career of just two ODI matches, the New Zealand spinner grabbed a 6/20 in 6.2 overs against Trinidad and Tobago women in a 1973 Women’s World Cup match.
Page’s performance is till date the best bowling figures in an WODI innings on debut.
Sophie Ecclestone and Anya Shrubsole matched Jackie Lord and Glenys Page’s feat of taking six wickets in a Women’s World Cup game in 2017. England left-arm spinner Ecclestone picked six wickets for 36 runs in her quota of 10 overs against South Africa women in Women's World Cup semi-final in 2022.
On the other hand, Shrubsole, who made her WODI debut in 2008, recorded a haul of 6/46 in the 2017 Women’s World Cup final against India women, and took the championship-winning wicket of India’s Rajeshwari Gayakwad.
Jennifer Turner is fifth on the list for cricketers with the best bowling figures in the ICC Women’s World Cup. The former New Zealand fast bowler’s 5/5 against Netherlands women in 1993 is among the most economical performances for bowlers with five or more wickets in a Women’s World Cup match.
Australia’s Tina Macpherson took 5/14 against Young England in 1973 and is regarded as the first bowler to take a five-wicket haul in women’s ODI cricket.
Rajeshwari Gayakwad has the best bowling figures in the ICC Women’s World Cup among Indian bowlers. The left-arm spinner’s 5/15 helped India bundle New Zealand women out for 79 in 25.3 overs in the 2017 Women’s World Cup.
