Fortnite icon MrSavage retires from competitive

Fortnite pro Martin ‘MrSavage’ Foss Andersen has officially retired from Fortnite Competitive after seven years. The Norwegian player shared the news in an emotional video on Sunday, March 16, stating that he is stepping away from competitive play.
He mentioned how the game gave him the greatest plays but noted that it's not the same anymore. He said, 'I just realised...I just haven't been having as much fun playing these tournaments'. Instead, he plans to focus on streaming and content creation.
MrSavage first gained traction in 2018 as a 14-year-old Fortnite streamer. Due to his smart plays, he quickly became one of Fortnite's biggest names. He qualified for solo and duo events at the 2019 Fortnite World Cup, where he placed 29th and 14th, respectively.
Over the years, he played for top teams like NRG Esports, 100 Thieves, Become Legends, and 00 Nation. He was also an official Red Bull Esports athlete. Throughout his career, he has earned more than $500,000 in tournament winnings.
Although he is stepping away from pro games, MrSavage assured fans that he'll still be part of the gaming world. His retirement follows other Fortnite legends like Benjyfishy and Mitr0, leaving Mongraal as the only active pro from Fortnite's original 'Big 4'.
