In the most recent update by the ICC on Monday, India retained their second position in the ICC Twenty20 team rankings but dropped a place to secure the third position in the ICC ODI rankings. India trail England (227) by 5 points in the T20I team rankings.
During this period of the update, England have lost an away series to India 2-3 but not before they drew a three-match series against Pakistan 1-1, got past Australia 2-1 and South Africa 3-0.
New Zealand have also moved two places up to third after series wins against West Indies, Pakistan, Australia and Bangladesh. However, Australia have slipped down to fifth.

In other rankings, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are placed 8th and 9th respectively in the T20I rankings, having gained a position each. The T20 powerhouse that West Indies is considered to be, has dropped two places to 10th.

As for the ODI rankings, the Kiwis dethroned England from their numero uno ODI ranking after defeating Bangladesh 3-0 to occupy the top spot. India is ranked third behind Australia. New Zealand stand at 121 points, followed by Australia and India who have 118 and 115 respectively. England came in a close fourth with 115 too but India leads in the decimal points.
Interestingly, there are no changes in any format for Afghanistan, Pakistan or South Africa. Afghanistan are ranked 10th and 7th in ODIs and T20Is respectively, Pakistan 6th and 4th in T20Is, and South Africa 5th in ODIs and 6th in T20Is.

Though Netherlands have played only four ODIs in the new rating period, they have been allowed to retain their ranking since their fixtures were affected due to the pandemic.
Five countries that have lost their T20I rankings are Gambia, Ghana, Hungary, Sierra Leone and Sweden.
The updated Test rankings will be out after the conclusion of the ongoing Pakistan-Zimbabwe series.
