The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2021 will be held from November 21 to December 5 in Harare, with three teams set to qualify for the 2022 Women’s ODI World Cup in New Zealand.
The nine-team event will see the countries being split into two groups with the top three from each group progressing to the Super Six stage.
The top three teams at the end of the Super Six stage will qualify for the mega tournament and will lock horns with the top nations in world cricket next year.
Furthermore, the fourth and fifth-placed teams after the Super Six stage will earn a ticket to the next ICC Women’s Championship cycle after the participating teams were increased from eight to ten.
Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and West Indies comprise Group A while Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand, USA and hosts Zimbabwe make up Group B. Papua New Guinea were a part of Group A but had to withdraw from the tournament after a COVID-19 outbreak in their squad during pre-flight quarantine.
The four venues that will host the tournament are Old Hararians, Harare Sports Club, Sunrise Cricket Club, and Takashinga Cricket Club.
